VERSE1:
Well, I'm standing here yeah, inside of your rose garden
I've got my ladder, propped up against your wall
Tonight's the night that we'll elope together
Come now, Juliet, there's no time to stall

(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
What is that you're telling me?
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
You say you've got to make it right.
I say, "Tomorrow? Good night!"

VERSE2:
My Juliet, why do you hang me up, my dear?
Haven't you been begging me to to take you far from here?
Hanging from your balcony, like Shakespear's Romeo.
And with all your crazy talk about freezin' in the snow.

(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
What is that you're telling me?
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
+You say you've got to make it right.
I say, "Tomorrow? Good night!"

(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait.)
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait yeah.)
If you want to wait, girl, it's gonna be alone. (here we go!)
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait.)
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait yeah.)
+I'm not gonna wait girl, it's time to get on home. (here we go!)

VERSE3:
Whoa, listen girl, you must be insane
Suddenly so indecisive at your window pane.
Now that your father and the police have arrived...
That's it, I'm outta here, they won't take me alive

CHORUS:
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
What is that you're telling me?
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
+I ain't going to be around tomorrow. (here we go!)

SOLO

CHORUS:
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
What is that you're telling me?
(I think we better wait till tomorrow)
+You say you've got to make it right.
I say, "Tomorrow? Good night!" (here we go!)

BRIDGE:
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait.)
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait yeah.)
If you want to wait, girl, it's gonna be alone. (here we go!)
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait.)
(Think you'd better wait, think you'd better wait yeah.)
I'm not gonna wait girl, it's time to get on home. (here we go!)

+I ain't going to be around tomorrow.

I've been thinking about doing "WaiT TiL ToMoRRoW (REDUX)" for many years. With our live J-OBViOUS shows, we were already doing a wild version of "FiRe"... but the pop song I always wanted to do by Jimi was WaiT TiL ToMoRRoW. Great groove, funny story, cool riff. What I heard in my head, however was a re-imagination with re-thought out lyrics, better backup singing, some fun production and a bit faster. I thought since Brad and Tim knew this song, using it as the warm-up song for our last session would be a good idea. However, my new arrangement made that a bit difficult. The increased the tempo and re-written the bass part was nearly impossible to play. We were also plagued by a repairman in another part of the room, ripping up the floor continually interrupting our session.

However after 25 grueling takes, we finally got what we needed. Atsushi Suzuki was called in to over-dub some bass for the final recording meaning both Brad and Atsushi play bass on this song.Lyrically, I wanted to tell the same story, but using a slightly different dialect. Jimi's story was told through African American colloquialisms usually found in the his Blues roots. I decided to pull a posh "Sting" interpretation and make it more of a Shakespearean tragedy with the characters a modern day Romeo and Juliet. Well, I didn't quite take it that far. Somehow during the vocal sessions it grew a hip hop edge, which fortunately rounded off any pretentiousness. I'm now raaaaather pleased with it all. Wherever you are Jimi-boy ... I hope you dig it!
